HOW FIJI STUDENTS CAN STUDY AND WORK IN AUSTRALIA FOR 2024

As we are the in the last month of 2023 and as we’re counting the days of 2023, it’s never too early to plan your 2024 in order to chart your future. Many Fiji students are looking at getting an education in Australia in order to improve their academic and future career prospects.

Here’s the basic and simplified overview on how Fiji students and young professionals can study in Australia.

Step 1 Choose your course and education provider.

Australia offers a wide range of courses and institutions to choose from. Consider your academic interests, career goals, and budget when making your decision. Visit the websites of different universities and colleges to learn more about their programs and admission requirements.

Step 2 Meet English language proficiency requirements.

If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate that you have the necessary language skills to succeed in your studies. Most Australian institutions accept scores from IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic, and OET. You can find more information on English language requirements on the website of your chosen institution.

Step 3 Apply for admission.

Once you have selected your course and institution, you can start the application process. This typically involves submitting an online application form, transcripts, and any other required documents. Deadlines vary by institution, so be sure to check carefully.

Step 4 Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

If your application is successful, you will receive a CoE from your institution. This is an important document that you will need to apply for your student visa.

Step 5 Apply for a student visa (Subclass 500).

You can apply for your student visa online or through an authorized agent. The application process involves providing various documents, including your CoE, passport, and financial evidence.

Step 6 Obtain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

All international students in Australia are required to have OSHC. This insurance covers you for essential medical and hospital services while you are in Australia.

Step 7 Book your travel and accommodation.

Once you have your visa and OSHC, you can start booking your travel and accommodation. There are many different options available, so do your research to find the best deals.

Step 8 Arrive in Australia and start your studies.

Congratulations! You have made it to Australia. Now it’s time to settle in, make new friends, and make the most of your studies as well as enjoy your time. Remember, it’s about the enrichment journey that is just as important as attaining excellence at your academic goals.
